- Princess Beatrice reportedly helped set up her father’s BBC interview, which ended up making him look worse.
- She’s been upset and “in tears” ever since the interview aired.
Literally no one in the royal family is happy about Prince Andrew’s tell-all interview that aired on the BBC last weekend, in which he attempted to justify his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein and defend himself against sexual misconduct allegations. Since the interview aired, Andrew has stepped back from royal duties, Meghan Markle is said to be “horrified,” and the queen reportedly thinks he’s done “huge amounts of damage” to the monarchy.
And now it’s being revealed that Andrew’s daughter Princess Beatrice actually helped set up the explosive interview. A source tells Daily Mail:
“Beatrice sat in on the discussions. Initially, Beatrice was skeptical that a television interview, which would inevitably delve into her father’s private life, was such a good idea. She was asking lots of pertinent questions and had her doubts. But by the end of the meeting, she was convinced...that they had no choice—that it was the only way to put all the rumors behind them.”
However, Beatrice is reportedly now completely distraught by how the interview was received. So much so that it apparently affected her fiancé Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi’s birthday dinner on Tuesday night, which was a “solemn and awkward affair.” A source shares that “Beatrice was somber and makeup-free for the birthday dinner. She was probably worried that her mascara would run. She seemed quite tearful at times. In fact, Beatrice has been in tears every day since the interview went out.”
Oy. This Prince Andrew scandal is a real mess!
